Description of the Boundaries (arranged in Geographical position from North to South) of the various Census Districts of Western Australia at the taking of the 7th Census, on the 31st March, 1901.
All that portion of the Colony North of the 16th parallel of South latitude.
Bounded on the North by the 16th parallel of South latitude. On the East by the Eastern boundary of the Colony (longitude 129° East). On the South by the parallel of 19° 30′ South latitude ; and on the West by the 126th meridian of East longitude.
Bounded on the North by the sea-coast (including the islands adjacent) from a sport situated on the 123rd meridian of East longitude to a spot situated in Doubtful Bay on the 16th parallel of South latitude, and thence by the 16th parallel of South latitude. On the East by the 126th meridian of East longitude. On the South by the parallel of 19° 30′ South latitude ; and on the Westward by the 123rd meridian of East longitude.
Bounded on the South by the parallel of 19° 30′ South latitude. On the East by the 123rd meridian of East longitude ; and on the North and West by the sea-coast, including the islands adjacent.
Bounded on the Westward by the left bank of the Yule River upwards to survey mark P 16 ; thence South-Easterly to trigonometrical station B 3 ; thence South to the Tropic of Capricorn, and along it East to the East boundary of the Colony. On the East by the East boundary of the Colony. On the North by a West line extending from the said East boundary of the Colony along the 19° 30′ parallel of South latitude to the sea coast ; and thence along the sea coast West-South-Westward to the mouth of the said Yule River, including all islands adjacent.
Bounded on the South and West by a South-South-East line from the sea coast to the trigonometrical station on the Pedamullah Hill ; thence East-South-Easterly to the trigonometrical station on Mount Darnell ; thence East-South-Easterly to the trigonometrical station on Mount Rica ; thence East-South-Easterly to the trigonometrical station Y 13 ; thence South-South-Easterly to the trigonometrical station on Mount Lionel ; thence due South to the Tropic of Capricorn, and along it East to a point due South from trigonometrical station B 3. On the East by a North line from said Tropic of Capricorn to said trigonometrical station B 3 ; thence North-Westerly to survey mark P 16, on the Yule River, and along its left bank downward to the sea coast ; and on the North by the said sea coast, including the islands adjacent.

Bounded by lines starting from the Southernmost corner of the Murchison Goldfields situate East about 4frac12; miles, and south about 4 miles from trigonometrical station K 75, on Wyemandoo Hill, and extending East to a point situate East 15 miles and North about 44 miles from the summit of Mount Ida ; thence North about 4frac14; miles ; thence East about 74frac14; miles, passing through a tree marked AN 33 at Doyle's Well, to a point situate West 2 miles 10 chains, and North about 35frac12; miles from tree marked B 82 at Brickey's Soak, thence North about 50 miles ; thence East to the 125th meridian East longitude ; thence South to a point situate East from the highest summit of the Wongan Hills ; thence East to the Eastern boundary of the Colony (129° East longitude) ; thence North along said boundary to the 26th parallel of South latitude ; thence West to a point situate North from the summit of Mount Russell ; thence South to the said summit ; thence South-South-Westward along the Eastern boundary of the Murchison Goldfields to the starting point.
Bounded by lines starting from the summit of Mount Murchison and extending West-South-Westerly to the summit of Tallering Peak ; thence South-Easterly to the summit of Mugga Mugga Hill, and onwards to the summit of Mount Gibson, which lies about 12 miles South-West from Ninghan Creek ; then Eastward to trigonometrical station K 83 on the Western shore of Lake Moore ; then due East to the Western boundary of the Yilgarn Goldfield and along it North to its North-West corner ; thence West-North-Westward to the summit of Wyemandoo Hill and onwards to trigonometrical station K 6 on Goonahmoudey Peak ; thence North-West ward to the summit of Mount Farmer and onwards to the summit of Mount Luke and onwards to the summit of Mount Murchison.

Bounded on the North by a due East line produced from Mount Stirling ; on the East by the 123rd meridian of East longitude ; on the South by a due West line, passing through Mount Ridley ; and on the West by the 120th meridian of East longitude.
Bounded by lines starting from a point 90 miles South of a cairn, H 26, on Koorarawalyee Granite Rock and extended West to a point due South of a point 10 miles West of cairn HK 148 on Yorkrakine Granite Rock ; thence North to the South-East corner of the Yalgoo Goldfield ; thence East-South-East to a point about 50 miles due West from a cairn, NB (conjoined) 1, near Wangine Soak ; thence South through the before mentioned cairn H 26 to the starting point.
Bounded on the North by an East line from the sea-coast to the summit of Mount Murchison. On the Eastward by a South-South-West line to the summit of Tallering Peak ; thence South-Easterly to the summit of Mugga Mugga Hill and onwards to the summit of Mount Gibson, which lies about 12 miles South-West from Ninghan Creek ; thence Eastward to trigonometrical station K 83 on the Western shore of Lake Moore ; thence due East to the Western boundary of the Yilgarn Magisterial District, and along it South to a point due East of Mount Lesueur. On the South by a due West line passing through the summit of said Mount Lesueur to the sea-coast ; and on the West by the said sea-coast and the islands adjacent.
Bounded on the North by a line starting from the sea-coast and extending due East, passing through the summit of Mount Lesueur to the West boundary of the Yilgarn Magisterial District. On the West by the sea-coast including the islands adjacent ; on the South and South-West by lines extending East from the coast aforesaid to a spot on the North branch of the Moore River where the South boundary of Melbourne Location 93 at Gillingarra crosses it ; thence downwards along the said North branch to the junction of the North and East branches of the Moore River ; thence in a South-South Easterly direction to the 60th-mile mark on the road from Perth to New Norcia ; thence to the South-West corner of Swan Location 95 at Bailup ; thence by a South-Easterly line to a spot on the Eastern Railway due North from the North-East corner of Helena Location 22 ; thence by the said Eastern Railway to the Clackline ; thence Northwards along the branch Railway to Newcastle to a spot West-South-Westerly from the North-West corner of Avon Location X ; thence East-North-Easterly along Northern boundary of Location X to the East side of the Avon River ; thence down said river to the North boundary of Avon Location U ; thence East-North-Easterly along North boundary of Location U aforesaid, and on to the South-West corner of Avon Location 895 ; thence East-North-Easterly to the South-East corner of Avon Location 296 ; thence North-North-Westerly to the North-West corner of Avon Location W ; thence East-North-Easterly to the North-East corner of Location W aforesaid, and thence due East. Bounded by lines starting from the Eastern Railway, and extending due South five miles towards the North-East corner of Helena Location 22 ; thence East-North-Easterly to the North-West corner of Avon Location F ; thence East-North-Easterly along North boundaries of Avon Locations F and J to the North-East corner of Location J ; and thence due East. On the North by the Eastern Railway to the Clackline ; thence Northwards along the branch railway to Newcastle to a spot West-South-Westerly from the North-West corner of Avon Location X ; thence East-North-Easterly along Northern boundary of Location X to the East side of the Avon River ; thence down said river to the North boundary of Avon Location U ; thence East-North-Easterly along North boundary of Location U aforesaid, and on to the South-West corner of Avon Location 895 ; thence East-North-Easterly to the South-East corner of Avon Location 296 ; thence North-North-Westerly to the North-West corner of Avon Location W ; thence East-North-Easterly to the North-East corner of Location W aforesaid ; and thence due East. Bounded on the North by an East-North-Easterly line, starting from a spot five miles due South from the Eastern Railway towards the North-East corner of Helena Location 22, and extending to the North-West corner of Avon Location F ; thence East-North-Easterly along the North boundaries of Avon Locations F and J to the North-East corner of Location J ; and thence due East. On the West by a due South line to the South-East corner of Helena Location 22, and thence in a Southerly direction to the summit of Mount Dale ; thence by a South-Easterly line from Mount Dale to a spot 20 miles due East from the 41-mile mark on the Perth-Albany Road ; then in about the same direction to the Hotham River at Reserve 225A at Cojatotine Pool. On the Southward from the South end of the Western boundary, extending in a North-Easterly direction along the Hotham River upwards to Millingnalling Pool, and thence due East ; and on the East by a due South line produced to a spot 10 miles West of cairn HK 148 on Yorkrakine Granite Rock.
Bounded on the North and East by a line extending East from the sea-coast to a spot on the North branch of the Moore River, where the South boundary of Melbourne Location 93, at Gillingarra, crosses it ; thence downwards along the said North branch to the junction of the North and East branches of the Moore River ; thence in a South-South-Easterly direction to the 60th-mile mark on the road from Perth to New Norcia ; thence to the South-West corner of Swan Location 95 at Bailup ; thence by a South-Easterly line to a spot on the Eastern Railway due North from the North-East corner of Helena Location 22 ; thence by a South line to the South-East corner of said location ; thence in a Southerly direction to the summit of Mt. Dale. On the South by an East line from the sea-coast, passing along the North boundary of Perthshire Location 111, at Nowergup Lake, to a spot due North of the North-East corner of Perthshire Location 104 at Gnangarra Lake ; thence due South to said location's South-East corner ; thence by a straight line to the South-East corner of Swan Location X, on the Swan River ; thence South-Easterly along the North-East boundary of Swan Location 34, to its Easternmost corner ; and thence by a South-Easterly line to Mount Dale aforesaid. And on the West by the sea-coast, including the islands adjacent.
Bounded on the West by the sea-coast, including the islands adjacent. On the North and East by lines extending East from the sea-coast, passing along the North boundary of Perthshire Location 111, at Nowergup Lake, to a spot due North of the North-East corner of Perthshire Location 104, at Gnangarra Lake ; thence due South to said location's South-East corner ; thence by a straight line to the South-East corner of Swan Location X, on the Swan River ; thence South-Easterly along the North-East boundary of Swan Location 34 to its Easternmost corner ; and thence by a South-Easterly line to Mount Dale. On the South by the North and East boundaries of North Fremantle Townsite ; thence by the Southern shores of the Swan Estuary and of the Canning River and Bull's Creek to the North-West corner of Canning Location 26 ; thence by the West and South boundaries of said Location 26 to its South-East corner ; thence by a South-Easterly line to that spot on the Perth-Albany Road situate due East from the South boundary of Rockingham Townsite, and thence North-Easterly to Mount Dale aforesaid.
Bounded on the West by the sea-coast. On the South by an East line along the South boundary of Rockingham Townsite to the Perth-Albany Road. On the East by a North-Westerly line to the South-East corner of Canning Location 26 ; thence by that location's South and West boundaries to Bull's Creek. On the North by Bull's Creek, the Canning River, and Swan Estuary to the sea, including North Fremantle Townsite, Rottnest, Carnac, Garden Island, and other islands adjacent.
Bounded on the West by the sea-coast, including the islands adjacent. On the North by an East line passing along the South boundary of Rockingham Townsite to the Perth-Albany Road and by a North-Easterly line thence to Mount Dale. On the Eastward by a South-Easterly line from Mount Dale to a spot 20 miles due East from the 41-mile mark on the Perth-Albany Road aforesaid ; thence West to the said mile mark, and from thence by a line extending in a Southerly direction to the junction of the Hotham and Williams Rivers. And on the South by an East line from the sea-coast passing through the summit of Mount William to the Murray River, and by that river upwards, including the locations and leases on both banks, to the junction of the Hotham and Williams Rivers aforesaid.
Bounded by lines starting from the 41-mile mark on the Perth-Albany Road, and extending in a Southerly direction to the junction of the Hotham and Williams Rivers ; and thence South-South-Easterly in direction of the junction of the Black-wood and Balgarup Rivers to a point West of Tarwonga ; thence East to a point seven miles East of Tarwonga ; and thence North-North-Westerly to Cojatotine Pool in the Hotham River ; thence North-Westerly to a point situate 20 miles East of said 41-mile mark ; and thence West to the starting point.
Bounded on the Northward by the Hotham River upwards from Cojatotine Pool to Millingnalling Pool, and from thence by an East line in the direction of the summit of Mount Glasse, in the Bremer Range. On the Westward by a South-South-Easterly line from Cojatotine Pool aforesaid to a point seven miles East of Tarwonga ; thence West to a line extending South-South-Easterly from the junction of Hotham and Williams Rivers to the junction of Balgarup and Blackwood Rivers ; thence South-South-Easterly along said line to the said junction of Blackwood and Balgarup Rivers ; then by a line extending in a South-Easterly direction to a spot 16 miles West from the 175-mile mark on the Perth-Albany Road. On the Southward by an East line, passing through the 175-mile mark aforesaid to the junction of the Jackitup Creek with the Pallinup River ; and thence by a line extending in an East-North-Easterly direction towards Mount Glasse, in the Bremer Range aforesaid ; and on the East by the 120th meridian of East longitude.
Bounded on the West by the sea-coast. On the North by an East line from the said coast, passing through the summit of Mount William to the Murray River ; thence by that river upward, excluding the locations and leases on both banks to the junction of the Hotham and Williams Rivers. On the Eastward by a South-South-Easterly line from the junction of the Hotham and Williams Rivers aforesaid to the junction of the Blackwood and Balgarup Rivers. And on the Southward by a true East line from the sea-coast to the Capel River, passing along the South boundary of Sussex Location 82 ; thence by the said river upwards to Location 171 inclusive ; thence due East about three miles from the South-West corner of Wellington Location 171 aforesaid ; thence North to a point West of the South boundary of Donnybrook Townsite ; thence East to the Donnybrook-Bridgetown Railway Reserve, and along it Southerly to a point East of the South-West corner of said Wellington Location 171 ; thence East to a point due South from the South-East corner of Wellington Location 40 ; thence North, passing along the Eastern boundary of Wellington Location 40 aforesaid to a point situate about 580 chains North from its North-East corner ; thence West about seven miles ; thence North about five and a-half miles to an angle in the Eastern boundary of Wellington Location 56 ; thence East two miles to another angle in the said boundary ; thence North about four miles, passing through the North-Eastern corner of said Location 56 ; thence East about five and a-half miles to the Collie River at its junction with the Harris River, and along the right bank of the said Collie River downwards to a point due West of Survey Station T 28 ; thence East about 12 miles, South about 11frac34; miles, passing through Survey Station T 52 ; thence West to Gregory's marked line of road from Bunbury to Kojonup, known as the " old post road," and thence by the said road to the junction of the Balgarup and Blackwood Rivers aforesaid.
